Group Exercise Classes
We offer a variety of exercise classes which are held at the Rakow Center and Randall Oaks Recreation Center. All group exercise classes are free for Fitness Center Members and are available for men and women ages 12 years and older. For more information, call the Group Exercise Coordinator at 847-428-7131. Classes are held in the Group Exercise Studio at Randall Oaks Recreation Center or the East/West Dundee Room at the Rakow Center unless otherwise noted. Group exercise class times include set-up and tear-down of equipment. If you are a new participant, please arrive five minutes before the scheduled class start time for initial instruction. Classes are not held when the Fitness Center is closed.
Group Exercise Passes
If you are not a member of our Fitness Centers and would like to attend Group Exercise Classes, you can customize your workout program through our group exercise passes! These passes are good for all land exercise classes, so you can mix and match workouts to fit your needs.

Exercise Class Descriptions
Every class will begin with a different 1/2 hour of cardiovascular training and finish with a 1/2 hour of body specific strength exercises.
Improve muscle tone, strength, posture, and balance with this workout that utilizes dumbbells, resistant bands, and stability/bosu balls.
Boot Camp Blitz
Whether you want to build strength, expand your aerobic capacity, or just lose that extra weight, this high energy workout will improve your fitness level and athletic performance. Working on endurance, strength, speed, agility and power, this dynamic class will keep all fitness levels challenged and motivated.

Boot Camp Conditioning
This workout takes you to another level. If you are looking to lose weight and firm up, this is the class for you. Our Boot Camp drill sergeant will work your cardio, plus make sure your muscles get a good workout. Come and challenge yourself to get fit.
Have you ever wanted to "Dance like the Stars?" Get a great cardio workout plus tighten core muscles while learning the basics of popular ballroom dances! Partners are not needed for this workout class. Plan to have a fun time.
A cardiovascular class without all of the fancy steps. If you are low on coordination, but high on energy, come join us for a heart-pumping workout.
This class is great for all levels of fitness. First half of the class will be a cardio workout, kickboxing, step or circuit. The second half will incorporate strength training with weights, bands and balls. This is a high energy, basic moves class.

This class will be a mixed format of different yoga styles that intend to challenge, relax, and strengthen your body. From energizing vinyasa yoga, and incorporating poses which will build strength and flexibility then infusing it with gentle and calming stretches designed to relax you. This class is suitable for all levels as poses can be modified. There's something for everyone in this fun dynamic yoga class. Please bring a yoga mat. If you are pregnant, please check with the instructor prior to class for modified poses.

Hip Hop Hustle™
Join this class for easy to learn hip-hop dance moves perfectly choreographed to high energy motivating music. It's the ultimate cardiovascular challenge. Hip Hop Hustle™ requires no previous dance experience. Once you try it, you'll have more fun doing the Hip Hop Hustle™ than any other format.
Hot Flow Yoga
Get your day started with Hot Flow Yoga. This is an awakening class for the body and mind. You will leave this class with energy to make it through the day.
Kick n' Core
Put a little more kick in your workout with this kickboxing class. Not only work your cardio, but get a great abdominal workout.
Les Mills BODYPUMP™
BODYPUMP™ is the original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls.
High energy and diverse choreography will guarantee a fun workout. This unique format uses 2 to 4 boards to increase your cardio endurance.
Pilates is a mind/body relationship that focuses on breathing and the powerhouse muscles (abdominals and low back). All individuals are welcome to join this class. Will be using Pilates rings. Please bring a mat to class.

Come try the latest Hollywood craze.
Strengthen and shape your body with the use of weights, tubing and Resist-a-Balls. A challenging workout for all levels of fitness.
A low impact aerobics class that's easy to follow in a casual and friendly atmosphere.
Senior Stretch & Strength
This class focuses on strength and stretch moves for the entire body.
Highly motivational, good music, and an incredible workout! This indoor cycling program is for participants of all fitness and skill levels. Control your own intensity while being challenged with overall body conditioning. Improve your heart and lungs - enjoy the ride!
Spin & Abs
45 minutes of Spin followed by 15 minutes of stretching and abs work.
This class is a 50/50 class - half spin, half body sculpt. Groove your way to a stronger body in this class designed to give a high voltage cardio workout while toning and strengthening concentrated muscle groups.
Tighten and Tone
Tighten and tone your entire body with a variety of equipment and strengthening moves. This will challenge all levels of fitness.
Total Body Strength
Total body workout that incorporates weights, tubing, barbell, and medicine ball to give you a workout that will keep you coming back for more. If you are a beginner or pro this is the class for you.
Turbo Kick™Turbo Kick™ is a combination of intense kickboxing moves, as well as dance moves, all perfectly choreographed to high energy and motivating music. It’s the ultimate cardiovascular challenge. Turbo Kick™ requires no previous kickboxing experience or equipment.
Yoga Body & Mind
De-stress & recharge your body through Yoga postures combined with traditional strengthening and stretching exercises. Build strength, increase flexibility and postural alignment and improve balance. The class concludes with a guided relaxation/meditation segment. Please bring a mat to class.

It's the new and exciting workout that everyone is doing. Zumba is a style of intense dance workout with pulsating Latin music. High energy-low impact. Ditch the workout and join the party!

Zumba tailored to the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is know for: the zesty Latin music, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating party-like atmosphere.
Summer Group Exercise Events
Yoga in the Park
Join us throughout the summer for this great workout. This class will jumpstart your weekend with a clear mind and refreshed body. We will be doing Vinyasa Yoga. Open to all, so bring your friends and family.
