Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten

About Our Program

Children in our preschool program are actively involved in a curriculum which stresses the social, emotional,physical and academic aspects of their development. Younger children are taught skills for building strong self-reliance and positive social interaction. Children ages 4-5 prepare for kindergarten through exposure to a variety of academic units. Our professional staff of teachers and aides have a common goal: to provide children with an atmosphere in which they can develop a positive view of themselves, which will help them in the years ahead. Starting in the Fall 2013, we will be offering Extended Care at our Sleepy Hollow location from
10:45 am-12:15 pm. Extended Care is a socially structured child care involving free-play, arts & crafts, story time, games, occasional movie and lunch. Participants must bring their own lunch/beverage.

Eligibility

Children entering our Pre-Kindergarten programs must be four by Sept. 1, 2013.
Children entering our Preschool program must be three by Sept. 1, 2013.
Children entering our Almost 3 program must be three by Jan. 15, 2014.
Children must be toilet trained for all classes. No pull-ups please.

2 days/week: $855/1069
3 days/week: $1380/1725
3 days/week with extended care: $1947/2434

Two Ways to Pay

Save 5% with full payment!

$812 for two days/week for all ages
$1311 for three days/week for all ages
$1850 for three days/week with extended care

Payment Plan

Two days/week: Initial payment-$130 Remaining 8 payments-$95 each
Three days/week: Initial payment-$188 Remaining 8 payments-$153 each
Three days/week with extended care: Initial payment-$251 Remaining 8 payments-$216 each

Initial registration fee pays for a $30* supply fee plus the last month of preschool. Payments due the first of each month, Sept. 1-April 1 (8 payments)

Registration

Registration is underway for the 2013-2014 school year.

Priority Registration

Those participants currently enrolled in the program are given “priority registration”. Priority registration means your child will be guaranteed a spot for the upcoming year, but they are not guaranteed the same time/location as the current year.

Alumni Registration

Siblings of children, who have been in Preschool with us in past years, qualify for priority registration. Call Kelly at 847-428-7131 for more information.

Registration Requirements

To process registration, we must have:

Payment
Photocopy of birth certificate
Proof of residency (Copy of tax bill, renter’s lease, current utility bill)
Immunization on Park District form signed by a medical doctor. This form is available at the Rakow Center and must be used. Unless we receive all three forms, your registration cannot be processed.

Back by popular demand, our Summer Preschool is designed to meet the needs of the whole child. Skills will be enhanced and introduced in the areas of letter recognition, pre-reading, math, number recognition, spatial concepts, one-to-one correspondence, large and small muscle control.
