Who is a Dundee Township Park District Resident?

The Dundee Township Park District serves the communities of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow and portions of Elgin, Barrington Hills, Hoffman Estates, Gilberts and Algonquin. To accurately determine if you are a resident of the Dundee Township Park District check your real estate tax bill or view the map. If you pay taxes to Dundee Township, then you are a resident. In order to receive resident rates you must be able to produce a valid driver’s license and a current property tax bill or utility bill verifying residency at that location.

Nonresident Fee Option

Nonresidents of the Dundee Township Park District may pay an annual fee to acquire the program registration benefits that in-district residents receive. Currently, nonresidents pay a registration program fee 50% higher for most programs, must register after all resident lottery registration is processed and are not eligible for various program categories. The nonresident annual fee is determined by multiplying the district’s tax rate by the assessed value of the nonresident’s home. Nonresident renters would pay an annual flat fee based on the average assessment of Dundee Township property. If you wish to register your immediate family at resident rates, during the resident registration period, bring in your most recent tax bill and we will determine what the annual fee will be. The option does not apply to annual golf passes or daily golf rates. For more information, call 847-428-7131.

Resident Senior Discount

Residents 62 years and older will receive 15% off selected programs.

Recreation Assistance Program (RAP)

RAP provides financial assistance for Dundee Township residents (or resident eligible) with children under the age of 16 who wish to participate in Dundee Township Park District programs. RAP will provide a discount of 25%, 50% or 75% (50% maximum for pool passes) for most district programs to family members under the age of 16. Programs that indicate “Contractual” are not eligible. The maximum annual family discount is $300. To become a RAP participant, please complete a confidential application (available in Spanish and English) that is available at the Recreation Center or the Administration Building.

Eligibility for the RAP program is based upon family income, family size, and special circumstances. Documentation of annual family income is required. Approved applicants will receive a RAP identification card which is valid for programs that run through December 31, 2012. The RAP card along with a picture ID will need to be presented when registering for a program. For more information, contact Charlotte at 847-551-4300. Anyone interested in donating funds to the RAP program, may do so by contacting Jim Miller at 847-551-4300.

Policies

Photo Policy

Registrants and participants of programs and special events permit the Park District to take photos and videos of themselves and their children for publication in the seasonal program brochure, website, and additional uses as the Park District deems necessary unless the registrant or participant expressly files with the Park District a written objection as to photos or videos of themselves and/or their children.

Behavior and Discipline Guidelines

A caring, positive approach will be taken regarding discipline. Each participant is expected to:
  1. Treat all participants/patrons and staff with respect.
  2. Respect all equipment.
  3. Follow all rules so he/she will not place him/herself or others in a dangerous situation.

The purpose of discipline is to help a participant/patron develop self-control and learn to assume responsibility for his or her own actions. The District will use positive statements and reinforcements to redirect negative behaviors. Should a participant/patron need more than that, a “time-out” period or a suspension may be initiated.

The District will handle disruptive behavior in the following manner:
  1. The participant/patron or the parent/guardian will be informed of the specific disruptive behavior, what corrective action on their part must be taken and what the potential consequences will be. An incident report will be completed and filed.
  2. If the behavior continues, the staff will inform the participant/patron or parent a second time. An incident report will be completed and consequences will be initiated.
  3. If there is no change in behavior, the participant/patron will be dismissed from the class/program or facility; a refund will be issued for the remaining class days or membership.

Disruptive behavior is defined as any behavior that causes, or could lead to, personal injury of participant or others. Examples: hitting, kicking, throwing things, defying, running away, rude or obscene language, threats, or any behavior that disrupts the facility or program. Disruptive behavior, in the broad sense, is any behavior that takes an instructor away from the rest of the class for long periods of time, disturbs the normal operation of a facility or threatens staff/patrons.
