Programs
In addition to viewing, petting and feeding our animals, the Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo offers unique programs for children of all ages. The goal of our Nature & Zoo programs is to educate and encourage children to participate in the preservation of our natural areas and the animals that live within them through hands-on projects and activities. A few of the programs we offer include Woodland Family Hike, Zoo School, Teddy Bear Picnic, Nature Explorers and Horseback Riding. Nature/Zoo Camps
Take a peek at a few of the Nature/Zoo Camps we offer this summer:
- Butterfly and Bug Camp (4-6 years)
- Pirates Camp (4-6 years)
- Magical Nature Camp (4-6 years)
- Campers Camp (Grades K-1)
- Farm Camp (Grades K-1)
- Around the World Camp (Grades 4-6)

Randall Oaks Zoo Docents
Would you like to get involved at the Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo? The Zoo is looking for enthusiastic people to work as an educational link between animals and visitors. Docents are highly trained adult volunteers who lead tours and work with some of the Zoo's animals. If you are interested, please call Kath at (847) 551-4310.
Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo Traveling Animals
Bring the magic of the Randall Oaks Animals back to school with a Traveling Animal program. Animal programs combine fun and learning with the experience of live animals. Programs are for Preschool through High School and are tailored to your curriculum goals. Cost is $95 per program. Call (847) 551-4310 for information and reservations.
Animal Encounters
Get to know animals through a visit with a variety
of live critters-from furry to scaly, and even some HUGE bugs if you like! Learn about similarities and differences between animal species and get to touch lots of animals. Fun for groups of all ages.
Bugology
There are more arthropods on earth than all other living things PUT TOGETHER! Enjoy an entertaining and educational program using live, exotic bugs that will provide children with a positive experience with crawly critters.
Cold-blooded Capers
Meet several of Randall Oaks' reptiles and
amphibians and learn about their unusual lives and fantastic survival techniques. Get to touch our friendly and non-venomous snake Esmerelda!
