Position: Facility Foreman

Definition: The Facility Foreman plans, administers, maintains, renovates, supervises and oversees maintenance/construction of all aspects of the Park District’s facilities, buildings, equipment and vehicles. The Facility Foreman oversees five staff that care for 23 buildings/facilities and over 100 vehicles/equipment.

Position Requirements: Requires a high school degree and an AA degree in Recreation Management or related field is desired. Must have formal training and demonstrate continuing education in all aspects of facility maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, equipment and vehicles. Valid Illinois drivers license, CDL preferred. Must speak, write, read the English language fluently. Must read blue prints and create working drawings. Must be proficient in the basic functions of computer functions and computerized mechanical systems.

Essential Functions: Coordinates maintenance/repair of all buildings, facilities, vehicles and equipment. Supervises, schedules, organizes, trains, and evaluates maintenance staff. Manages preventive maintenance programs for all responsibilities. Develops written reports and records. Monitors staff schedule/payroll and develops budget documents. Assists with capital and master planning. Assists with maintenance/repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, equipment and vehicles. Maintains/oversees equipment/vehicles inventories/purchases.

Location: Park Services Office, 750 N. Randall Road, West Dundee, IL 60118

Hours: An Exempt position that requires a commitment of 40 plus hours a week year round. Occasional evening and weekend commitment required. Position is on call 24/7.

Benefits: $52,000-$55,000 annual salary, depending on qualifications. Comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, life, disability, IMRF retirement and complete leave package.

Position: Park Services - Part-time Custodian

Will work under the direction of the Facility Foreman. The Custodian performs varied janitorial activities at buildings and facilites located within the Dundee Township Park District in accordance with procedures and standards set by the Park District. The Custodian will only clean the inside, but also the walks, and any vandalism to the buildings.

Requirements: Sixteen years of age or older. Work permit when necessary. Valid Illinois driver's license required.

Location: Park Services, 750 N. Randall Road, West Dundee, IL 60118

Hours: Year-round part-time position. Monday-Friday, approximately 20-24 hours per week between the hours of 6:30 am-3 pm (days and hours may vary)

Pay Rate: $9-10 per hour, based on experience

Position: Personal Trainer

Provide one-on-one training to clients and develop individual training programs to meet the needs of each client. Personal trainers are involved in wellness programming for all members in the form of competitions, screenings, newsletters, health fair, and other special events.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in physical education, kinesiology or other health-related field preferred.
  • Certification from a national organization, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, or NASM
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification

Hours: Flexible part-time hours, evenings perferred

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Position: Lifeguards

The lifeguard team's overall responsibility is the safety and operation of the pool. As part of this team, your responsibilities include: Completion of the Jeff Ellis & Associates lifeguard training course, operation of the water park rides and supervision of the sand play areas (at Dolphin Cove only), and general cleanup of the facility. Lifeguard applicants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 15 years old
  • Able to swim 200 yards using the front crawl or breast stroke
  • Retrieve a 10 lb. mannequin from a depth of 12 feet
  • Tread water for 3 minutes
  • Pass the on-line exam

All training is provided by the Dundee Township Park District for the following fees:
New lifeguards: $125
Returning lifeguards: $50

Qualifications: Lifeguards must be 15 years and older. Will train.

Hours: Flexible part-time hours

Salary: Lifeguard: $6.80-$8.00 • Depending on experience
