Randall Oaks Park & Barnyard Zoo
Randall Oaks Park is the largest of the district’s parks, boasting 141 acres of space. It’s the ideal place for a company picnic, family gathering, or a day out of the house. With picnic areas that include grills, playground equipment, horseshoe pits, volleyball areas and underdeveloped land. We have a variety of picnic areas and shelters available for rental that are sure to suit your needs. It’s the perfect place for the entire family! This facility provides a variety of farm animals for petting and feeding.

Randall Oaks Park Picnic Area Reservations
Picnic reservations are taken at the Park Services office located just south of the park entrance on Randall Road in W. Dundee. The address is identified by fire number 17N070 Randall Road. Reservations will be taken beginning Jan. 21 for residents and Feb. 4 for nonresidents.

Randall Oaks Shelter Rates
Fee (Resident/Nonresident)
Front Shelter - includes a grill and 8-10 tables $150/185 (Along side of the petting zoo by the playgrounds; accommodates 200 guests)
Back Shelter** - includes a grill and 8-10 tables $150/185 (Behind the zoo along the gravel road with sand volleyball area; accommodates 200 guests)
Community Shelter** - includes a grill and 13 tables $220/275 (At end of gravel road in back of park; accommodates 250 guests)
Picnic Area - includes a grill and five tables $40/$50; accommodates up to 50 guests)
If you you have more people in your group you will need to rent a picnic area nearby.
Additional tables $4/$5 each
**Alcohol is only permitted in these areas with a certificate of insurance, which is required
Birthday Party With The Animals
We have designed several party packages to include the Barnyard Zoo in your child’s birthday celebration. Customize your party with options such as: A guided tour of the zoo with a staff member, craft goody bags, hayride (must be ordered 2 weeks in advance), and more. We’ll help you create the perfect celebration for your child! Call 847-551-4310 to place a reservation.

Hayrides
Group Hayrides available Friday-Sunday from Sept. 5-Nov.2
Experience crisp, autumn air, beautiful woodlands and open fields as you journey through Randall Oaks Park on you hayride! Each ride lasts approximately 30 minutes, and is followed by a 1 1/2 hour bonfire. Contact us beginning May 19, 2008 between 7 am-3 pm, Monday-Friday at 847-551-4310, to make your reservation.

Family Season Pass
Purchase your Family Season Pass to the Barnyard Zoo and receive unlimited seasonal admission to the Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo. This pass is good for a family of four (two adults, two children). You will also receive four free guest passes. (Feedbags may be purchased separately). Call us for more information. Great Gift Idea!

Sponsor an Animal
Caring for the animals and their future is what Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo is all about! When you sponsor your favorite critter you share the cost of caring for an animal. Your contribution will help zoo staff to provide expert care for your animal for a year. For $75 per year your membership benefits include: Family pass for 4 to the zoo and 4 guest passes. Volunteers Needed
The Randall Oaks Barnyard Zoo is looking for individuals who would like to volunteer throughout the season. Stop in or call for an application. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Zoo programs
See the current brochure* for a full description of these programs. Registration is taken at the Recreation Center or at the Park Services office or call 847-551-4310. All programs take place at the Randall Oaks Park, Zoo Classroom.
School Groups
Attention Teachers! Plan your class field trip to Randall Oaks Park and Barnyard Zoo. Plan a picnic in one of our three shelters or six picnic areas, visit with the animals, play on one of several of our playgrounds or use the open space area for team-building games. School groups may visit beginning April 15th on Tuesday's and Wednesday's only or daily beginning May 12. Reservations are required for groups of 20 or more.

Traveling Animal Programs
Get up close to a variety of fascinating critters with the Dundee Township Park District’s Traveling Animals, where the fun and learning come to YOU! Programs are an hour long and can be tailored for any grade level or group size. Program cost is $85. Call Kath Ellinghausen at 847-551-4310 for details and reservations.
Animal Encounters
Get to know animals through a visit with a variety of live crittersfrom furry to scaly, and even some HUGE bugs if you like! Learn about similarities and differences between animal species and get to touch lots of animals. Fun for groups of all ages.
Bugology
There are more arthropods on earth than all other living things PUT TOGETHER! Enjoy an entertaining and educational program using live, exotic bugs that will provide children with a positive experience with crawly critters.
Cold-blooded Capers
Meet several of Randall Oaks’ reptiles and amphibians and learn about their unusual lives and fantastic survival techniques. Get to touch our friendly and non-venomous snake Esmerelda!

Mammal Mayhem
Discover the unusual world and fantastic habits of mammals! We will learn through meeting fuzzy animals as well as checking out different mammal’s skulls.
Centerville Schoolhouse Educational Tour
Groups will now have the opportunity to tour the restored Centerville School with a 20- minute presentation on what it was like to go to school in the 1800s. Reservations are required.
Fee: $25 per program (maximum of 30 people per program)
