Water Fitness (12 years & Older)

Classes are designed for both men and women. You do not need to know how to swim to take the class. Our instructors are trained and certified through the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA). Classes are great for weight management, improving flexibility, muscle toning, and strengthening.

*Children, ages 12-15 years old, must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) in the water and must follow instructions without disruption.

How do I join?

Before the start of your class, check in with the front desk. You can pay a drop-in fee or purchase a punch card. Classes are ongoing, and the punch card has no expiration date. The first class is free, so you can decide what class is best for you.

The minimum age for the class is 12 years or older. Children, ages 12-15 years old, must be accompanied by an adult in the water (18 or older), and they can follow instructions without disruption.

Class Descriptions

Active Aging
This class is for core strengthening, balance, and cardio conditioning.

Ai Chi
This class is designed to strengthen and tone the body while promoting relaxation, flexibility, increasing metabolism and establishing a body-mind connection.

Beginner Flexibility & Toning
This class is great for post-surgery rehabilitation, orthopedic/neurological conditions, i.e., Scoliosis, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, and TIA. Basic movements will be taught.

Deep Well Cardio & Toning
Participants are suspended in deep water with a flotation belt. Focus is on cardiovascular
conditioning as well as toning and stretching. This class is held outdoors and is conducted weather permitting.

Strengthening & Balance
This class is for core strengthening, balance, and cardio conditioning.

Water Cardio & Toning
This low-impact class focuses on cardiovascular conditioning and includes toning and stretching.

Hours are subject to change. Closures due to swim meets will be posted in advance.

Classes meet at the Rakow Center Indoor Pool.
