This is an introduction to tap and jazz, focusing on the fundamental footwork and technique of tap and jazz dancing. This class is geared towards the dancer who has little to no dance training. Class begins with a center warm-up and progresses to steps across the floor, combinations and repetitive exercises, instilling a solid foundation for the beginner dancer.

Children's Theater Production 44281
Disney's The Lion King has captivated audiences worldwide. We will bring the African savanna to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale. The Lion King KIDS features classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.” In this class, students will focus on the three disciplines of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dancing. The class will end with two full-scale performances on the Adult Activities Center stage. Tech week will take place the week of November 9 - 12 with live performances on Friday, November 13th at 7 pm, Saturday, November 14th at 2 pm & 7 pm, and Sunday, November 15th at 2 pm. This is a tuition-based program in which all actors are assigned parts based on their auditions. Auditions will be held on the first night of class, and all participants will be asked to sing and read from the script provided. Each actor will receive 2 free tickets. Others will be available for purchase at the Rakow Front Desk at a later date.

All Ages Theater Production: A Christmas Carol- The Musical 44280
With a beautiful new score, the characters come to life as never before, from a larger-than-life Ghost of Marley to a heartbreaking Tiny Tim. Laugh along with Scrooge's comical and bitter domestic servants and revel in Belle's poignant love song. Join Scrooge and his three spirit guides on a favorite holiday journey, and send the audience home singing. Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 1 - 5 pm from September 15th - November 22nd at the Adult Activity Center. Additional rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm beginning September 17th - November 17th. Tech week will be 11/29 - 12/3. Performances will be held onstage at the Adult Activity Center on Friday, December 4, at 7 pm, Saturday, December 5, at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday, December 6, at 2 pm. Roles will be assigned based on auditions. Individual vocal auditions will begin at 1 pm on Sunday, September 13. Please submit a video audition to steeple@dtpd.org showcasing 30 - 45 seconds of a musical theater song or Christmas carol with accompaniment (no a cappella by September 6th. Child actors may be invited to callbacks on Tuesday, September 15th. PLEASE NOTE: Child actors will only be cast in the ensemble if they have a parent who is in the cast or who is a member of the production team. Special Events
Fishing Day 35400
Let us lure you in for a day of fishing! We will have all the equipment needed or you can bring your own. Each kid will get a small tackle box filled with bobbers, lures and more. We will also have other giveaways, prizes, crafts and games. Registration is for your family's 30 minute fishing time. Each registered family will get a fishing spot and instruction as needed. Outside of the 30 minute fishing time, families can enjoy several other activities that will be offered at the park. We will also be providing hot dogs, chips and drinks for the families. An Illinois Fishing license is required for participants 16 years and older. Registration is per family. When registering, please let us know how many children under 16 will be fishing. Pre-registration is required by August 21st at 12pm.
Drive-in Movie 45405
We will be hosting a Drive-in Movie this fall at the Dolphin Cove Parking Lot. Sound will be transmitted through your car radio, so you can enjoy the show in your car or by popping the trunk with some blankets and chairs. Registration is per vehicle. Frozen Oaks 5K 10107
Join us on Saturday, February 6, for our 8th annual Frozen Oaks 5K! This event will take place at the Randall Oaks Golf Club where you will twist and turn through the scenic Randall Oaks Golf Course! All pre-registered participants will receive a race swag bag which includes one ticket for the chili bar located in the Randall Oaks Golf Clubhouse as well as one drink ticket that can be redeemed for a soda or adult beverage (Bloody Mary, a glass of wine or bottle/draft beer). Awards will be given to the overall men's and women's winners as well as the top three finishers for both men & women in each age division. A Frozen Oaks 5K sweatshirt is guaranteed for all pre-registered runners. *Registration closes Monday, February 1 at 11:59 pm. Youth Soccer - DTPD Outdoor Fall Program 47186
Players will practice during the week and play games on Saturday. Some weeknight or Sunday games may be necessary. Due to the size of the program, we are unable to honor special requests. Team placements are solely at the discretion of the Dundee Township Park District. Coaches will contact team members prior to the first practice. A special registration form is required and may be picked up at either Recreation Center. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that the age requirements have changed and you are able to play up a level if you choose. If you choose to play up a level, you will need to register in person at one of our recreation centers. Uniforms: Shin guards are mandatory (not provided), Soccer cleats optional but recommended, shirt/socks included in fee. This program will focus on the fundamentals of soccer. Each participant will be assigned to a team with a volunteer parent coach. Players will learn rules and focus on developing soccer skills. Instructional games will be held on Saturdays. Practices will be assigned for one day during the week. Practice will start the week mid August. Games will be scheduled on Saturdays beginning at 9:00 am on August 29. Your assigned coach will contact you regarding team assignments, practice times, and game schedule. Uniforms: shin guards are mandatory, but not provided. Soccer shoes are optional but recommended. A jersey is included in the fee. REGISTRATION
Youth Flag Football (5 on 5) 47000
The DTPD Flag Football League will be partnering with Huntley and Hampshire Park Districts to offer our annual fall program. This program provides an introduction to football and is great for boys and girls who choose not to play tackle football. The program utilizes many of the guidelines set up by the NFL Flag Football Program while implementing some of our own ideas to help fit the needs of our community. The program's emphasis is on football's basic skills, including passing, pass catching, defending and running. Players will also learn about competition and sportsmanship. Teams will practice during the weeknights with games on Saturday mornings. All practices are held at Randall Oaks Recreation Center. Games will be held at Randall Oaks as well as other competing park districts. Each player will receive a team jersey. Flags will be provided to the players before each practice and game. Practices will begin the third week in mid August. Players will be contacted by a coach one week prior to their first practice. Volunteer coaches are needed for this program. Kindergarten Basketball League 47212
The Dundee Township Park presents our inaugural Kindergarten Basketball League! Designed for our youngest athletes, this league aims to introduce the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and supportive environment. Kids will learn basic skills like dribbling, passing, and teamwork while building confidence and making new friends. The program will take place on Sundays only and consists of a 20–30-minute practice followed by a 20-minute game. Players are only eligible for this league if they are currently enrolled in Kindergarten.

Curious about baton twirling? Join us for this one-day clinic to learn the basics. We will dance, twirl, toss, catch, and have lots of fun!
