Celebrate the Zoo’s 60th Anniversary with a party and late hours until 8 pm.
• Make toys and treats for the animals
• Watch the animals eat and play with watermelons
• Experience an animal encounter with a zookeeper
• Enjoy an anniversary treat available from 5:00-8:00 pm
• Receive a special anniversary tote (while supplies last)
Additional Details
Make toys and treats for the animals with enrichment gifts for purchase
- Make bird rope toys
- Chew toys: Tie muffin cups, wooden blocks, wooden circles, and construction paper on twine pieces
- Forage toys: wrap nuts in muffin cups and tie closed with twine
- Make braided rope toys
- Braid pieces of rope and handkerchiefs together and knot at both ends
Watch the animals eat and play with watermelons during these times:
- 9:30 am Charlotte
- 10:30 am Porcupine
- 11:30 am Raccoon
- 12:30 pm Goats (from Petting Zoo area)
- 1:30 pm Fox
- 2:30 Marley
- 3:30 pm Elmer
- 4:30 pm Goats (from Goat Mountain)
- 5:30 pm Donkey
- 6:30 pm Cow
Experience an animal encounter with a zookeeper (Encounters may be weather dependent, located in front of the cow exhibit.)
- 12:00-12:30 pm – Meet Poppy the opossum in her wagon
- 1:00-1:30 pm – Meet Echo the macaw
- 2:00-2:30 pm – Meet Butch the pony
- 3:00-3:30 pm – Meet Tater Tot the guinea pig and watch him run through his maze
- 4:00-4:30 pm – Meet Saddle the corn snake
- 4:45–5:00 pm – Meet Bud the leopard tortoise
Celebrate with us! Enjoy a special anniversary cookie by Deep Roots Farm from 5:00-8:00 PM. One delicious treat per person, available while supplies last. Don't miss out!
