The Harry Smart Memorial Youth Basketball Scholarship

The late Harry Smart loved the game of basketball, and Harry enthusiastically supported Dundee Township Park District’s efforts to provide a program for youngsters. Harry’s family established a scholarship in his name, the funds used to assist youths who might not be able to afford to participate in our basketball league. Should you wish to enroll your son or daughter in youth basketball and utilize scholarship funds, please include a letter along with your registration form letting the Park District know your need.

If you would like more information, you can contact Tammy Greco, Superintendent of Recreation, at (847) 428-7131 x2204.

Youth Flag Football (7 on 7)

Fall Youth League | Boys & Girls | Grades 1-8
The DTPD Flag Football League is partnered with Huntley and Hampshire Park Districts to offer our annual fall program. This program provides an introduction to football and is great for boys and girls who choose not to play tackle football. The program utilizes many of the guidelines set up by the NFL Flag Football Program while implementing some of our own ideas to help fit the needs of our community. The program’s emphasis is on football’s basic skills, including passing, pass catching, defending, and running. Players will also learn about
competition and sportsmanship.

Teams will practice during the weeknights with games on Saturday mornings. All practices
are held at Randall Oaks Recreation Center. Games will be held at Randall Oaks as well as other competing park districts. Each player will receive a team jersey. Flags will be provided to the players before each practice and game. Practices will begin the third week in August (tentative). Players will be contacted by a coach one week prior to their first practice. Each team will have a volunteer coach. If you are interested in coaching, please complete a volunteer coach form.
