Specialty Yoga Series | 12 years & older
Most people are familiar with the general benefits of practicing Yoga: destressing and recharging your mind, strengthening and stretching your body and improving your balance. But did you know Yoga can be used to relieve the pain and discomfort of achy shoulders, lower back, and knee issues? Each of these topics will be addressed separately in our Specialty Yoga Series. Attend one class for a specific topic or all four at a Special Series Rate. Please bring your own Yoga mat and pillow. If needed, please bring your own Yoga Blocks.

Yoga for Special Needs Youth | 8-12 years
Here is a unique class specifically designed for young participants on the autism spectrum, preferably ages 8 to 12 years. This interactive program includes fun Yoga-based movements and breathing exercises to teach relaxation techniques. Parents may join as support and are encouraged to view the class setting before registering. A welcome packet will be sent after registration which describes the class and expectations. Please note young participants need to be willing to attend, able to communicate verbally, physically stand on their own and move without assistance. Please note: Each participant provides their own Yoga mat.

Foam Roller Workshop | 12 years & older
Foam rolling is a type of self-myofascial release (or self-massage) that eases muscle tension. Painful trigger points or “knots” lead to muscle tension and dysfunction in the body. Often, stretching alone is not enough to alleviate pain. This self-care technique allows you to use your own bodyweight to apply pressure to the knots to facilitate relaxation. Bring your own mat and your own foam roller or purchase a foam roller for an additional *$35 with your registration! Foam rolling is not recommended for women during pregnancy. If you have any medical conditions, consult your doctor to obtain a release prior to registering for this Workshop.

Meditation Workshop | 12 years & older
There are many meditation styles, each with the same ultimate goal- to encourage you to stay in the present and let go of all that “extra stuff” cluttering your mind! This workshop explores several meditation styles from a scientific and psychological perspective so you can decide what works best for you. Chairs will be provided; if you prefer to sit on the floor, please bring a comfortable cushion. Also, bring a Yoga mat, blanket or pillow as we will end the session laying on the floor for a “sound bath meditation.”

Rollerball Yoga | 12 years & older
Using Yoga Massage Balls, you will learn to deeply massage stressful “knots” in your muscles, releasing pain and tension. Deep relaxation will be induced by practicing the ball sequences that lubricate your joints and connective tissues. Enhance your Yoga practice by improving your posture, becoming more flexible, and preventing injuries. These techniques will help with relieving pain from sciatic tissues, arthritis, stiff neck, carpal tunnel and TMJ. We end with Sivasana to feel completely relaxed and renewed. Police Physical Achievement Test (P-PAT) | 18 years & older
In recognizing the importance of physical fitness in the performance of essential law enforcement duties, the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board has established the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test to be provided to each candidate prior to entering the police academy. The Police Physical Achievement Test (P-PAT) is now being offered by the Dundee Township Park District and is open to all police officer candidates looking to begin their career in law enforcement. The P-PAT will consist of the following four basic tests: Sit and Reach test, One Minute Sit-up test, One Repetition Maximum Bench Press, and the 1.5 Mile run. At the end of the test, the candidate will be given a score sheet with the test results and whether the POWER test standards have been met. Please call (847) 428-7131×2203 to schedule an appointment!
