Residents

You will need to provide proof of residency the first time you set up an account with us. Please scan or take a picture of one of the following documents and include it with your email to guestservices@dtpd.org. We accept one of the following as valid proof of residency: a house purchase contract or apartment lease, a current utility or real estate tax bill, or a homeowners or renters insurance policy.

The Dundee Township Park District serves the communities of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, and portions of Elgin, Barrington Hills, Hoffman Estates, Gilberts, and Algonquin. To accurately determine if you are a Dundee Township Park District resident, check your real estate tax bill or view the map. If you pay taxes to Dundee Township, then you are a resident. To receive resident rates, you must be able to produce a valid driver's license and a current property tax bill or utility bill verifying residency at that location.

Nonresidents

Nonresidents do not pay property taxes that support the District and will be charged an additional 20% for most programs. If you need help determining if you live inside the District boundaries, call us at (847) 428-7131.

Nonresident Fee Option

Nonresidents of the Dundee Township Park District may pay an annual fee to acquire the program registration benefits that in-district residents receive. Currently, nonresidents pay a higher registration fee for most programs, must register after all resident lottery registration is processed, and are not eligible for various program categories. The nonresident annual fee is determined by multiplying the district's tax rate by the net taxable value of the nonresident's home. Nonresident renters would pay an annual flat fee based on the average assessment of Dundee Township property. If you wish to register your immediate family at resident rates, during the resident registration period, bring in your most recent tax bill, and we will determine what the annual fee will be. The option does not apply to annual golf passes or daily golf rates. For more information, call (847) 428-7131 x1100.

Waiting List

Your name will be placed on a waiting list. You will be contacted in the event that a space opens for that activity or additional activities are added. If you are moved from the waiting list into an activity, payment will be required at that time. If you do not want to be placed on the waiting list, click the Remove button that appears on the Shopping Cart screen.

*Please Note: It is recommended for guaranteed participation to choose a secondary activity option with openings.

Cancellation Policy

If your class is cancelled, you will be notified and offered an alternate choice, if one is available. Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment or instructor availability. The Park District occasionally must cancel, postpone, combine classes or change instructors as needed.

How to Cancel or Suspend Your Fitness Membership

Your request to cancel or suspend your membership must be emailed to us at bhepperle@dtpd.org.

Refund Policy

If a program is canceled for any reason, a full refund will be issued to each participant. All other refunds are subject to a $5 service charge.

To request a refund for any other reason, please complete the Refund/Transfer Request Form available at the Rakow Center and Randall Oaks Recreation Center Guest Services or download here. You may mail, drop off or email this form to a Guest Services Manager at guestservices@dtpd.org.

  • If you are not satisfied with the quality of a program, you must attend two class sessions and fill out the Refund/Transfer Request Form prior to the third class meeting. A full refund will then be given. Your input on this form will help us identify where improvement is needed.
  • If you are not able to participate in a program due to medical reasons, please submit a doctor's note along with the Refund/Transfer Request Form. If class has already started, a refund may be prorated. At least half of the program/activity must remain to be eligible to receive a refund.
  • All other refunds must be submitted one week prior to the start of the program.
  • Direct individual expenses incurred such as t-shirts, uniforms, costumes, etc. will be deducted from refunds.

If a refund is approved, a receipt will be emailed to the household after processing. We reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of household credit.

If a refund is approved for returned payment:

  • Original payment by cash or check will receive a refund in the form of a check.
  • Original payment paid by credit/debit card will receive credit on the card with which payment was made, when possible.

Submission of a Refund Request Form does not guarantee a refund. All refund requests are subject to review and approval by the program supervisor. If a refund is denied, the program supervisor will be in contact to inform you.
