Phase 4 Reopening – Safe Return to Recreation
We are excited to welcome you back to our recreation facilities now that they have reopened! During Phase 4, the District will adhere to guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA), the Illinois Association of Park Districts, and CDC recommendations.
Please take a moment to read through this important information, so you are familiar with our updated operations, including adjustments to our hours of operation and information regarding in-person programming. We ask for your patience with the reopening as there will be several changes and guidelines for our employees and guests to follow. Our staff will continue to monitor our operations and, are prepared to make adjustments as necessary. We thank you for your understanding as safety continues to be our and top priority.
Recreation Facilities: Rakow Center and Randall Oaks Recreation Center
Our two recreation centers reopened on July 6th with adjusted hours for in-person programs and fitness. The registration desks are now open. All residents are encouraged to register online, but if you need assistance, please call 847-428-7131 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please view the list below for the amenities and services temporarily closed in Phase 4.
Please be aware that our hours have changed for staff to clean and prepare the facilities for the next business day. Hours are subject to change.

The following amenities and services will be temporarily closed or suspended during Phase 4.

- Racquetball Courts (Rakow Center)
- KidZone (Randall Oaks Recreation Center)
Per the guidelines issued for Phase 4, we will be operating our fitness centers at 50% of our normal capacity. Therefore, the facility will only be open to our current active members. We will be accepting new memberships, but not guests or daily visits until we get a better understanding of the usage patterns. Access will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis if we reach capacity at any time. For more information regarding our fitness operations, click here.

Rakow Center Indoor Pool
Per the guidelines issued for Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan, we will be operating our indoor pool and diving well at the lesser of 50% of our normal capacity or 50 people. Access will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis if we reach capacity at any time. Currently, we do not want to implement a time-registration policy for our patrons visiting the pool. Once the facility reaches capacity, we will not allow additional patrons into the facility until the total number of patrons in the facility falls below the capacity limit.
At this time, we will be offering lap swim, water fitness, private and group swim lessons, and open swim at the Rakow Center Indoor Pool during Phase 4. A full list of our aquatics offerings can be found in the Fall Program Guide. For more information regarding our aquatics operations, click here.
Additional Aquatics Information
Due to the health, safety, operational and financial challenges related to operating pools under social distancing protocols, the Board of Commissioners and Park District Staff have decided not to open Sleepy Hollow Pool for the 2020 season. This announcement follows the previous decision to keep Dolphin Cove Family Aquatic Center closed for 2020.
Randall Oaks Zoo
The Randall Oaks Zoo is open to the general public for the 2020 season. In order to limit capacity and support social distancing, reservations are required for each visit. All guests must reserve a time to visit the Zoo as we will not be able to accommodate guests without an online reservation. Our two golf courses will continue to operate under the strict safety guidelines that were put in place to ensure social distancing. The updated golf guidelines can be found on the Randall Oaks Golf Club and Bonnie Dundee Golf Club websites. Online pre-paid reservations are encouraged. Our parks are open including restrooms. If you visit one of our parks, you must follow CDC recommendations of social distancing and staying home if you are sick.
Our playgrounds are open! Please exercise caution and use at your discretion.
- Playground use is limited to no more than 50 people at a time. If a playground is at capacity, please come back at a later time.
- Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet away from people you don’t live with.
- Masks or face coverings must be worn when not playing or when within six feet of other people.
- Playgrounds are not sanitized. Please follow CDC guidelines and wash or sanitize hands frequently.
- DO NOT USE playgrounds if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Splash Pad at Huffman Park
The Huffman Park Splash Pad is open and will be available daily from 10:00 am-7:00 pm through September 20. Please exercise caution and use at your discretion.
- Splash Pad use is limited to no more than 50 people at a time. If the splash pad is at capacity, please come back at a later time. As before, our splash pad is open to the public and will not be supervised. The guidelines are to be self-regulated. We hope that our community will follow the guidelines so we can continue to offer amenities as the state reopens under the Restore Illinois Plan.
- DO NOT USE the splash pad if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

FALL PROGRAM GUIDE
The Fall Program Guide is now available online. All participants and parents must follow the following Program and Facility Guidelines for Phase 4. Each of our programs will have guidelines that are specific to that program that must be followed upon participation. Those will be provided prior to the start of the program.
Resident Registration begins August 10 and nonresident on August 17. In-person registration is available, but we highly recommend utilizing online registration. If you need assistance, please call 847-428-7131 or email email@example.com.
With the implementation of the Restore Illinois Plan, and the released guidelines for Phase 4 limiting gatherings of 50 people or fewer, the Park District is announcing the cancellation of the following additional events:

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS – BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
Registration dates for Circle of Friends (Before/After School Care program) have now been established. Open Registration for new families will begin on Thursday, July 23rd. Priority registration is currently underway for families that were enrolled in Circle of Friends at the end of the 2019/2020 school year from July 17-July 22, with a lottery being held on July 23rd. Randall Oaks Zoo
Birthdays parties are now being booked for Saturdays and Sundays during Phase 4 but must abide by the Phase 4 guidelines. For more information, please call (847) 551-4310 for available days and times.
Due to recent upgrades to our credit card processing system, we are unable to refund any payments made by credit card prior to June 22. If you request a refund, you will be receiving a check mailed to your address on file within 2-3 weeks of your refund being processed. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Payments made after June 22 for any Park District programs that have been canceled will go back to your original form of payment.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR VISITORS AND PARTICIPANTS
Each area of service will have a set of guidelines that must be followed to ensure safe participation. For the safety of all employees and patrons, the Dundee Township Park District requests that all facility guests and program participants over the age of 2 to follow IDPH guidelines and wear face coverings when inside the building and any time when 6-ft. of social distancing cannot be maintained.
The Dundee Township Park District will not be taking temperatures of patrons entering the building. Instead, we ask that all patrons utilizing the facility perform a self-check before coming to the facility. Ask yourself the following questions before coming to the facility. If you answer yes to any of these questions, please do not come on-site that day to help prevent the spread of illness. Staff may ask you if you’ve completed the self-check upon entering the facility.
-Do you have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher?
-Do you have a cough?
-Do you have a sore throat?
-Do you have muscle aches?
-Have you been experiencing difficulty breathing or shortness of breath?
-Have you had a new or unusual headache?
-Have you noticed a loss of taste or loss of smell?
-Have you been experiencing chills or rigors (i.e., a sudden feeling of cold with shivering accompanied by a rise in temperature)?
-Do you have any gastrointestinal concerns (e.g., abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea)?
-Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
-Is anyone in your household displaying any symptoms (as listed above) of COVID-19?
-To the best of your knowledge, in the last 14 days, have you come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive for or been diagnosed with COVID-19?
In addition, the Dundee Township Park District will be following all cleaning procedures based on the CDC recommendations. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the facility, and desk shields have been placed at the registration desks to protect you and our staff. Face coverings will be worn by all Park District staff inside the building.
