Dundee Township Park District Aquatics Needs Assessment Moving into Phase 2
With input from the Aquatics Citizen Advisory Committee, the Board of Commissioners has approved moving forward into Phase 2 for consideration of aquatic facilities at the Randall Oaks Recreation Center campus and Sleepy Hollow Park.
In a significant step toward addressing the aquatic needs of the community, the Dundee Township Park District Board of Commissioners reviewed the survey results and engaged in conversation with the Aquatics Citizen Advisory Committee at their August 21 meeting. The board discussed the survey results and carefully weighed a future aquatics project's advantages and potential challenges.
This Committee, comprised of 12 members from various community organizations, local businesses, and diverse demographics, has played an instrumental and valued role in reviewing the community's priorities and proposed plans.
Phase 2 will take approximately 8-10 weeks to complete and will include:
- Initial Aquatics Facility Recommendations
- Site Analysis and Identification
- Preliminary Concepts and Cost Estimates
Once Phase 2 is complete, the Board of Commissioners will review the aquatic center concepts and cost estimates. This will determine the next steps, including the possibility of engaging FGM Architects for Phase 3, referendum support.
We're committed to keeping our community informed and engaged. Stay tuned for future updates as we continue to share important developments. For updates on the proposed projects and upcoming meetings, please visit www.dtpd.org.
