Grand Old Flag
How much do you know about the U.S. flag? Why is the Pledge of Allegiance different today? Learn fun facts about Old Glory and make stars and stripes windsock to take home.
Cookie Show
Of course, you like cookies. Who doesn’t? But how did they come to be? Hear stories about your favorite treats and get some recipes to take home.
What’s the weather going to be?
Are weather myths true? Can animals predict the weather? We’ll talk about your favorite treats and get some recipes to take home.
Cross-Stitch Sampler
While sewing was important for girls to learn the cross-stitch sampler taught girls their letters as well. Learn the basics of cross stitch by making your own schoolhouse sampler to take home and finish.
Reward of Merit
Students of the past enjoyed “reward of merit” cards for jobs well done just as stickers or stars are given today by teachers. Make a reward of merit refrigerator magnet and receive your own compliments from this class.
Fancy Hat Pin Cushion
A pin cushion is a handy thing to have, but this one is extra nice. It includes two wearable pins and is pretty enough to display on your dresser as Victorian women did.
Badge Programs for Scouts
Bring your troop to Randall Oaks Zoo and earn a badge too. We offer badge programs that are nature related and hands-on work areas for Cub Scout and Girl Scout activities. The programs listed offer scouts the opportunity to explore and experience nature while earning each achievement or badge. Programs are led by trained staff and will combine games with hands-on activities.
