Important Notices
- Inflatable swimming devices and flotation jackets may be used within the arm's reach of a chaperone. All flotation rings must have a bottom. Water wings are not allowed.
- Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing safety rules and responding to emergencies. Parents or guardians should supervise their children.
- Children 9 and under must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or older.
- Children must be ten (10) or older to enter the facility alone.
- Aqua diapers (not Huggies® Little Swimmers®, or Pampers® Splashers) are required for any child that is not toilet trained. Aqua diapers can be purchased at Dolphin Cove, Sleepy Hollow Pool, or the registration desk of the Rakow Center.
- Lined swimsuits are required to swim. Thongs, cut-offs, or gym shorts are not permitted.

Lifejacket Use Rules
- "Use lifejackets at your own risk." A lifejacket will not keep a patron from drowning and does not substitute for appropriate swimming skills and/or adult supervision of children. Adult patrons and parents/guardians of minor patrons are solely responsible for determining that the lifejacket is the proper size and fit and is properly adjusted and worn.
- All children using a lifejacket must be supervised by an adult in the pool within arms reach at all times. A lifejacket is not a babysitter.
- Lifeguards and other aquatic staff are not responsible for assessing patron swimming skills or ensuring that patrons properly wear lifejackets.
- Dundee Township Park District will make a reasonable attempt to provide lifejackets upon request for children three years of age and older and at least 40 pounds through adult sizes.
- Lifejacket straps must be secured, and the lifejacket must fit snugly. To check for a good fit, gently attempt to pick up the wearer by the shoulders of the lifejacket. If the lifejacket fits right, the wearer's chin and ears will not slip through. Whenever a lifejacket is removed during your visit, it should be refit before it is used again, even by the same person.
- Individuals wearing lifejackets are not permitted on the slides or diving boards.
- Do not alter the lifejackets.
- Do not put heavy objects, sit, stand, or kneel on the lifejackets.
- Return lifejackets to the tube coral and hand the lifejacket to the lifeguard or staff member on duty.
- Only Coast Guard approved lifejackets (II and III) are allowed at our facilities. All other lifejackets and personal flotation devices are not permitted.

Lifeguard Staff
The District's Lifeguard Staff starts another season under the top national waterpark safety program, StarGuard ELITE (SGE). The guard staff must complete and pass a training program, including lifeguard rescue skills, emergency procedures, and professional CPR. The guards must attend in-service training sessions and participate in unannounced lifeguard audits. Throughout the season, auditors from StarGuard ELITE (SGE) conduct unannounced visits to audit staff performance.
